Welcome
to Festival of Mobility and Sport 2005
On behalf of the Julie Rose Stadium, Ashford Borough Council, and the working
party who have put this event together, may I welcome you to our second annual
event, the "Festival of Mobility and Sport 2005". We hope you will
find enjoyable and informative.
As you move around the stadium you will find a range of commercial and voluntary organisations displaying and promoting what they do. On the track, inside the sports hall, in the conference room and outside on the multi-use games area you can witness a range of sports being demonstrated and the opportunity to have-a-go. We will also have the Learning Disability Football World Cup on display.
This year we are particularly pleased to have Danny Crates (Paralympian), Noel Thatcher (Paralympian) and Candy Hawkins (Deaflympian) as our "guests of honour", and the support of Invicta FM Radio, with Nicola Everett as our M.C. Throughout the day Nicola will be holding interviews, making announcements and giving you up to the minute information on what's happening as well as making our raffle prize draws.
You will gain most if you visit all areas of the stadium, and we hope that you will enjoy the day but also find something to become involved within the future. Please feel free to ask any of the events promoters any questions you have. If you would like to become involved in any particular sporting opportunity please feel free to leave your contact details with the organisers, at the main stadium reception, or fill in the slip at the back of this programme.
If you need any general advice or information please ask one of the volunteers (in the T-shirts with the event logo) or the Organisers (wearing the name badges).
